Fabien est venu me chercher à la gare de Cahors. On a conduit à Puy-l’Evêque en 30 minutes, et La ferme de Mayne n’était pas trop loin. On est dans Le Lot, le département à côté de la Corréze, et le paysage est trop beau. En fait, j’ai vu des panneaux qui indiquent la voie à Rocamadour.
Fabien came to pick me up from Cahors station. We drove to Puy-l’Evêquein 30 minutes and The Mayne Farm was not too far from there. The village is in Le Lot, the department next to La Corréze, and the landscape was so amazing. Actually, I saw signs to Rocamadour, so I thought we must not be too far.
Fabien, c’est le fils du Françis et Christine. Il est jumeau de sa sœur, Gail. Il m’a guidé à travers la ferme avec sa chienne, Elka. La famille a également une chatte, Maggie. Les sentiers étaient très intéressants, la pente n’était pas trop raide, mais il y avait beaucoup de boue.
Fabien is the son of Françis and Christine. He is a twin with his sister, Gail. He took me on a tour of the farm with his dog, Elka. The family also has a kitten, Maggie. The walking tracks were very interesting, the incline not too steep but heaps muddy.
La maison est une ancienne ferme. Les propriétaires précédentes vivaient au-dessus, et l’étage en bas était utilisé comme une cave et des étables.
The house was an old farm. The previous owners lived on the second storey, while the bottom level was a cellar and a stable.
On a fait un bbq de magrés de canard, c’etait trop bon ! Gail a fait un gâteau pour dire « Bienvenue ! » même si elle n’y était pas encore (elle voyageait à Barcelone).
We had a bbq with duck breast, i twas soo good ! Gail made a cake to say « Welcome ! » though she was not yet there to say it herself (she was travelling in Barcelona).
